What this is

The analysis step is the core AI synthesis job. It reads every input collected so far, discovery questionnaire answers, web intelligence briefing, document extractions, and interview synthesis, and produces a structured set of findings: opportunities, risks, gaps, and priority signals. This output drives every downstream step: frameworks, ROI calculations, memos, and the final report.

Before you start

  • Discovery must be marked complete.
  • At least one of the following should be populated: documents with completed analysis, interview records with content, or a completed web intelligence briefing. Analysis can run with only discovery answers, but richer inputs produce better output.
  • Check your credit balance. Analysis consumes credits; the exact amount depends on input volume. The UI shows an estimated cost before you confirm.
  • Analysis has a 180-second timeout. Projects with very large document sets or many long transcripts may time out. See Analysis limits.

Procedure

  1. Open your project and click Analysis in the lifecycle stepper.
  2. Review the Input summary panel, which shows what will be included: discovery (complete / incomplete), documents (N ready), interviews (N synthesised), web intelligence (present / absent).
  3. Click Run analysis.
  4. Confirm the credit cost in the confirmation dialog, then click Confirm.
  5. The analysis job runs. A progress indicator shows current stage: Gathering inputs → Synthesising → Generating findings → Complete.
  6. When complete, the Findings panel populates with:
    • Opportunities, ranked by potential impact.
    • Risks and gaps, issues that need addressing before AI adoption.
    • Priority signals, high-confidence items the AI is most certain about.
  7. Review the findings. You can add notes, flag items for further investigation, or dismiss findings that are not relevant.
Analysis results are not final until you review and confirm them. Dismissed findings are excluded from frameworks, ROI, and the final report.

Limits and gating

  • Timeout: 180 seconds. See Analysis limits for strategies to stay within this.
  • Re-runs: You can re-run analysis at any time. Each run costs credits and overwrites the previous findings (dismissed items are preserved as dismissed).
  • Gating: Frameworks, ROI calculations, memos, and the opportunity matrix all require at least one completed analysis run.

Common issues

Analysis times out at the synthesis stage. Reduce the input volume: remove lower-priority documents, shorten transcripts, or split the project into phases. See Analysis limits. Findings seem generic or low quality. This typically means the discovery questionnaire was sparsely filled, or documents/interviews are absent. Add more inputs and re-run. Credit deducted but findings panel is empty. This indicates a partial failure in the synthesis pipeline. Retry once. If it fails again, contact support@auditynow.com, credits for failed runs are refunded. “Analysis already running” error. One analysis job per project can run at a time. Wait for the current job to complete or time out before starting another.
